Water & Sediment Control Basin in the Town of Geneva
Ontario SWCD recently used GLC SNRP funding matched with AEM technical time to install a 200’ farmable water and sediment control basin in the Town of Geneva. This project was completed in the Seneca Lake Watershed as part of our Finger Lakes Phosphorus Reduction Project. This project was installed to address a short run of sever gully erosion and has a sediment load reduction of 13 tons of soil saved per year. This project was strategically installed as part of a contour strip and all cropland acres remained in production.
