CONSERVATION EDUCATION
Wise use of natural resources enhances economic viability and quality of life for all residents of Ontario County.

Envirothon is a competition for high school students. Areas of examination are soils, aquatics, forestry, wildlife and a current issue that changes annually. Winning teams at the county level compete at state contests.

The 2010 Western Finger Lakes Regional Envirothon was held at Finger Lakes Community College in April. Study materials will be found online at http://www.nysenvirothon.org later in the school year. The New York State Envirothon will be held at Keuka College in Penn Yan, Yates County this year. Winners from the Regional Envirothon will represent their counties at the state contest.
